Bring sunglasses for sure.
Did you know that 2025 will be exactly 60 years since Honda initially entered the Thai market? I wasn’t aware until now either, but thanks to the announcement of the new Honda New Monkey Chrome Legacy special edition by Cub House Honda in Thailand, this fact has come into light for us both.
It brims with joy and pride as it marks the 60th anniversary of one of the world’s most beloved motorcycle brands. The bike boasts a shiny chrome finish on the fuel tank and body parts, while additional styling elements pay homage to Honda's rich heritage and their iconic Monkey motorcycles.
The design includes a logo featuring the classic Honda wing emblem alongside two small silver monkeys tracing back directly to the original Monkey from 1967, which had just 49cc. The saddle comes adorned with retro-style black leather upholstery and is embellished with polished stainless-steel studs at the edges, adding a striking decorative element to the motorcycle.
Like Honda often does with certain exclusive editions (unfortunately, typically excluding U.S. models), there’s also a specially crafted limited-edition helmet designed to complement this motorcycle. This helmet features the same emblem as the Chrome Legacy Monkey, adorned with twin monkey symbols and a touch of elegant 60th Anniversary lettering.
Every one of these Chrome Legacy Monkeys will come with individual numbering and a distinct serial number plate specific to each motorcycle. The introduction of this model took place at the 2025 Bangkok International Motor Show, continuing until April 6, 2025. This date holds significance for those who wish to acquire the Chrome Legacy Monkey since it will only be accessible up till then. Should you desire one, ensure to visit any Cub House outlet across Thailand to secure your order before the deadline passes.
The Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the Chrome Legacy Monkey is ฿117,000, equivalent to approximately US$3,445 when this was written.
Given that this monkey is associated with a particular celebration in a specific part of Thailand, it’s unlikely to be found elsewhere. Are you, if based in Thailand or having visited, intrigued by riding such a themed attraction? What do you make of the coordinating helmet? Share your thoughts below.
