The Royal Challengers Bangalore are basking in glory following their victory over the reigning champions, the Kolkata Knight Riders, in the opening match of the season. IPL 2025 on Saturday. RCB, one of the four teams to qualify for the Playoffs last year, put up a clinical show, chasing down KKR's 175-run target in just 16.2 overs to win the match by 7 wickets. Following the win, RCB and their players got some downtime to chill and celebrate the win. With a good six-day gap between their first and second game, the RCB camp engaged in fun activities, where an unexpected act by one of their youngsters left everyone surprised.
Swastik Chikara , selected by RCB for their base price of ₹30 lakh, demonstrated an audacity that few others would dare exhibit — invading Virat Kohli's personal space — though it was meant as a joke. The 19-year-old Chikara rummaged through Kohli's belongings and applied his cologne liberally without seeking permission, much to the amusement of those present. Yash Dayal: After our final match in Kolkata, we were all relaxing in the dressing room. He walked over to Virat Kohli’s bag, grabbed his cologne, and sprayed some on himself without permission. We couldn’t stop laughing. He just sat there calmly as if nothing had happened.
Rajat Patidar: Virat bhai was right there. I couldn't help but wonder what this fellow was up to.
Swastik Chikkara: "He's our elder brother, isn't he? So I was checking to ensure he doesn't used a bad one. So I tried it. He asked me how it was. I said it's nice. I was only checking to let you know."

Virat Kohli, the elder sibling
In 2008, when the IPL first started, Kohli was just an 18-year-old, one year junior to Chikara today. Fast forward to 2025—after 17 years—he has become not only a legendary figure but also an indispensable star player. Despite criticisms from certain ex-Indian national team members, Kohli remains a remarkable individual and an outstanding friend. He consistently responds positively to every request and encourages both teammates and opponents alike, particularly those who are newer to the sport. Upon his recent return to Ranji Trophy, despite being dismissed for a low score due to the bowling of Himanshu Sangwan , he elegantly autographed the ball for the young Haryana fast bowler.
Kohli started the IPL 2025 just where he left off at the end of last season. As the Orange Cap holder from the previous year, having amassed 741 runs, Kohli struck a quickfire fifty against KKR, finishing not out on 59 off 36 deliveries, including four boundaries and three sixes.
Regarding Chikara, being a young player, he lacks significant experience, having participated in only 2 First-Class matches, 6 List-A games, and 4 T20s for Uttar Pradesh. During the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Chikara struggled, managing scores of 5, 0, 7, and 3 across his four appearances. However, before this tournament, he had shown some promise by scoring 41 and 12 runs against Bengal in the Ranji Trophy, along with an additional 21 runs against Haryana.
