On May 18, Pakistan announced it will initiate a diplomatic campaign in light of escalating tensions with India, with Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari poised to spearhead this initiative.
According to reports, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman will spearhead a high-level delegation to Europe aimed at informing the international community about India's recent hostile actions.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conducted a phone call with Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and officially asked him to serve as Pakistan’s representative internationally.
The prime minister has set up a dedicated task force led by Bilawal to oversee the initiative.
The committee comprises well-known political and diplomatic personalities like Khurram Dastgir, Hina Rabbani Khar, and Jalil Abbas Jilani. Collectively, their aim is to convey Pakistan’s stance as a country striving for peace amidst rising regional conflicts.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari verified the information through his X account (previously known as Twitter).
He stated, "Earlier today, I received a call from Prime Minister Shehbaz, who asked me to head a delegation to showcase Pakistan’s stance on peace at an international level."
He went on to say, "I feel privileged to take on this responsibility and remain dedicated to serving Pakistan during these difficult times. Long live Pakistan."
In addition to the Europe mission, Pakistan will be dispatching several other delegations to key nations, including the United States and Russia.
A team headed by Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi is set to travel to Moscow for discussions with their Russian peers regarding this issue.
These diplomatic initiatives are viewed as a response to India’s recent strategy of dispatching its own missions overseas with the aim of disseminating anti-Pakistan propaganda after alleged military losses in recent confrontations.
By reaching out to key international stakeholders, Pakistan aims to challenge India's propaganda and present what it describes as the "reality on the ground."
